We believe the highest purpose of marriage is to glorify and bring one another closer to Allah (SWT). That purpose is what drives us forward when times are tough and keeps us humble when everything is going well. The relationship between a husband and wife is a beautiful, fulfilling, and tranquil thing. It is a companionship, the yearning of which has been placed in every human heart by Allah Himself. The Quran speaks highly of this relationship, which shows us its importance.
Allah (SWT) mentions in the Holy Quran – “It is He who created you from one soul and created from its mate that he might dwell in security with her. And when he covers her, she carries a light burden and continues therein. And when it becomes dark, they both invoke Allah, their Lord, If You should give us a good [child], we will surely be among the grateful” (7:189). Maintaining a healthy relationship is not only personally beneficial but also on a bigger scale. Therefore we have listed a few points on how to maintain a healthy marriage.
- Communicate with each other
- Worship together
- Fulfill each other’s rights
- Know your duties
- Make little efforts
- Express love
- Patience, patience, patience
