I am a clinical psychologist and a family and systemic therapist. I was born in Tanzania and brought up in Pakistan, where did my Masters in clinical psychology. I then achieve my second Master's degree in family and systemic therapy from Kings College London, after which I got married and migrated to Tehran, Iran.
I have been living in Iran for the past 15 years and have been taking online therapy sessions for the past 6 years with clients all over the world. I run an Instagram page called @healandrise.withsabira, with the aim of spreading mental awareness and reaching out to South Asian Muslims who are struggling with their mental health. I have experience of working with clients having depression, anxiety issues, and relationship issues. I also mentor families having members with special needs.
I have been invited to several platforms to talk about various topics related to mental health. I firmly believe that it is the duty of mental health professionals to make ourselves approachable so that more and more people can be supported. Getting help for mental health issues should be as simple as getting help for our physical health.
