Bio

I am a qualified counsellor working with a psycho-spiritual model, Islamic Counselling. Coming from a background in Medical Science and research, I embarked on a career change and pursued therapist training with Stephen Maynard & Associates. I work with Muslim and BAME clients, and have most recently founded my private practice - Mindspace Therapy. I also work with the Lateef Project in the UK and have previously worked with Nour DV.

My approach is holistic, primarily focused on faith/spirituality and taking into account individual cultural perspectives and differences. I have experience working with a diverse set of presenting issues and I am passionate about positive mental health and well-being as well as social justice issues. I strongly believe in working with authenticity and aim to mirror that for my clients, to empower and facilitate growth through a collaborative approach and ultimately create space for terbiyah (self-awareness and self-development) and healing.
