Shefa Obaid is a passionate advocate of women's empowerment and a voice for Arab and Muslim women's issues. She graduated from the University of Toronto in Psychology and is currently pursuing her MSc degree in Psychology. She has worked for humanitarian emergency interventions in Jordan in refugee camps, remote field sites and cross border as Psychosocial Support specialists and Program manager for International Child and Women Protection Non governmental Organizations. She believes in supporting women, girls and families through empowerment interventions and evidence based practice drawing from her clinical and field experience and her exposure to people of all faiths and backgrounds and has worked in Canada, Jordan, Qatar and is now based in New York city. She provides psychological counselling that is client-centered and needs-based in both Arabic and English. Shefa can be found participating in various mental health awareness activities through her instagram page @noorcounsel.
