Once I finally receive my Florida learner's permit, what are the next steps? How many supervised driving hours should I aim for, and when can I apply for a full Florida driver's license?

Once you finally get your permit, the real practice begins behind the wheel! You need to log at least 50 hours of driving practice, with 10 of those hours done at night. You must hold your permit for a full year or until you turn 18 before you can upgrade to your restricted license or full driver's license. Drive safely and take it slow.

That's the best approach. Staying consistent with supervised driving will improve your skills and help you feel much more confident when it's time for the road test.
